Installation Information


Trade Depot provides optional installation services for most of our appliances in selected metropolitan and rural areas. We contract trusted trade partners such as electricians and gas fitters to undertake our installations. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions section on installations for more details on how to purchase this service.

We provide installation services for the following appliances:

Installation Terms and Conditions


Appliance Installation Terms and Conditions

By selecting and purchasing the installation service option, you agree that you've read and understood and agree to the Trade Depot installation terms and conditions outlined here.

When you order installation services online, our team will be notified of your installation request when they check and accept your order into our system. Once we dispatch your order or you pick your order up, we will notify our appropriate area installer to book an appointment at a suitable time with you. Please note that installations are NOT undertaken at the time of delivery - this is a separate service.

  1. Please check appliance immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  2. Ovens must match same size as your current oven:
    • Eg.: current oven is 595mm x 595mm at the front
    • cabinet space behind oven is 560Wx585H
  3. Cooktops must match same size as your current cooktop
  4. Price does not include extra carpentry/cutting
  5. Price does not include additional wiring, electrical work or electrical cable/fittings/switches
  6. Upon safe completion, an Electrical Certificate of Compliance will be issued
  7. A minimum $60 cancellation fee will apply
  8. If our installer has been to visit and you wish to cancel this service afterwards, we will charge a call out fee of typically $120 + GST

If our installer needs to use additional materials or the installation is more involved we reserve the right to charge extra.

EXTRA CHARGES:

  • Cable - $5 / metre
  • Additional Labour $20 per 15 minutes
  • Extra Call-outs $50
  • Switches – $5 - $15
  • Plugs/sockets - $35 each

Whiteware Installation Terms and Conditions

Once we dispatch your order or you pick your order up, we will notify our appropriate area installer to book an appointment at a suitable time with you. Please note that installations are NOT undertaken at the time of delivery - this is a separate service.

  1. Please check appliance immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  2. The appliance must match your cabinet space or fit in the desired location without modifications to the cabinetry or space
  3. If the appliance requires plumbing, the necessary plumbing connections must already be in place
  4. Price does not include extra carpentry/cutting or modifying the space for the appliance
  5. Price does not include additional wiring, electrical work, electrical cable/fittings/switches, plumbing, or gas-fitting
  6. We do not perform wall mounted install for dryers
  7. A minimum $60 cancellation fee will apply
  8. If our installer has been to visit and you wish to cancel this service afterwards, we will charge a call out fee of typically $120 + GST

  1. Please check appliance immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  2. Your home is in our residential service area - please check your postcode or ask our customer services.
  3. The installation is a back to back install; see below for details.
  4. If your home is outside of our coverage area, you can purchase the unit at our standard price and organise your own installer.
  5. If our installer needs to use additional materials or the installation is more involved our installer reserves the right to charge extra.
  6. If your installation is not a standard back to back or requires additional materials and/or labour and/or travel, you agree to settle the additional installation cost directly with the installer.
  7. Wider Auckland areas listed below will incur extra travel charges of $1/km after the first 45km one way.
  8. Waiheke Island installs can be undertaken if the customer is willing to cover the cost of the Ferry for 1 van and 2 persons.
  9. Our installer will issue a certificate upon successful installation.

Back to Back Installation

A back to back installation is the quickest and most economical way to install your new split system heat pump. The outdoor unit is placed at the base of the outside wall on which the indoor unit will be installed and the two are connected. The connection shall not exceed 3 metres. Our installer will visit your home and provide an assessment of your situation, and let you know if your installation will be standard or will incur extra costs.


Gas Appliances Installation Terms & Conditions

When you order installation services online, our team will be notified of your installation request when they check and accept your order into our system. Once we dispatch your order or you pick your order up, we will notify our appropriate area installer to book an appointment at a suitable time with you. Please note that installations are NOT undertaken at the time of delivery - this is a separate service.

  1. Please check appliance immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  2. You have an existing gas supply suitable for the appliance to be installed.
  3. You have an existing power supply suitable for the appliance to be installed.
  4. Appliance must match same size as your current one.
  5. Price does not include extra carpentry/cutting
  6. Price does not include additional wiring, electrical work or electrical cable/fittings/switches nor additional gas fittings, lines or pipes.
  7. If LPG is used, you will need to provide the LPG bottles and they will be your responsibility to maintain.
  8. Any additional charges will be communicated to you and are payable directly to the installer.
  9. If you ordered old appliance removal, we will also remove your old unit and take it away for recycling.
  10. Upon completion of installation, you will be issued a Gas Safety & Compliance Certificate.
  11. A minimum $60 cancellation fee will apply
  12. If our installer has been to visit and you wish to cancel this service afterwards, we will charge a call out fee of typically $120 + GST

 

Please note that we cannot price for unforeseen things such as existing natural gas lines providing inadequate gas flow, inadequate gas pressure, inadequate existing fittings, etc. In any such cases you will be advised on first inspection.


Water Heaters Installation Terms and Conditions

When you order installation services online, our team will be notified of your installation request when they check and accept your order into our system. Once we dispatch your order or you pick your order up, we will notify our appropriate area installer to book an appointment at a suitable time with you. Please note that installations are NOT undertaken at the time of delivery - this is a separate service.

  1. Please check appliance immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  2. The water heater shall not be more than 5 meters away from a natural gas line or LPG bottle.
  3. The water heater shall not be more than 7 meters away from any water feeds.
  4. If LPG is used, you will need to provide the LPG bottles and they will be your responsibility to maintain.
  5. The installation price does not include any electrical work. If the installation requires electrical work, we can provide an electrician at additional charge over and above the advertised installation price.
  6. The installation price will only apply for single story houses due to health and safety reasons.
  7. Any additional charges will be communicated to you and are payable directly to the installer.
  8. If you ordered old appliance removal, we will also remove your old unit and take it away for recycling.
  9. Upon completion of installation, you will be issued a Gas Safety & Compliance Certificate.
  10. A minimum $60 cancellation fee will apply
  11. If our installer has been to visit and you wish to cancel this service afterwards, we will charge a call out fee of typically $120 + GST

 

Please note that we cannot price for unforeseen things such as existing natural gas lines providing inadequate gas flow, inadequate gas pressure, poor incoming water pressure, excessive water pressure, confined spaces, working at heights, two story houses where walls need to be cut open to track back to water feeds, etc. In any such cases you will be advised on first inspection.

Due to the AS/NZ 5601 standard, the unit will need to be placed in an appropriate place where no ventilation obstructions are in the way. If unforeseen circumstances affect the installation cost and effort, you will be advised of the extras. The extras will include works and materials needed to bring the installation up to safety and compliance standards.


Smart Toilets Installation Terms & Conditions

When you order installation services online, our team will be notified of your installation request when they check and accept your order into our system. Once we dispatch your order or you pick your order up, we will notify our appropriate area installer to book an appointment at a suitable time with you. Please note that installations are NOT undertaken at the time of delivery - this is a separate service.

  • Please check item immediately upon delivery for defects and damages and PRIOR to the installer appointment.
  • Work will be carried out by a certified plumber and electrician.
  • Gib fixing, tiling, painting, wall fixing and any other modifications to structures, walls, floors, ceilings are all excluded from the installation price.
  • If a power outlet is not available near the installation location, our electrician will need to assess the work which may change the installation cost.
  • If our installer needs to use additional materials or the installation is more involved we reserve the right to charge extra.
  • If the work is more complicated than usual, our installers may decline the job in which case we will refund the purchase and installation cost in full.
  • A minimum $60 cancellation fee will apply

EXTRA CHARGES:

Please note that there are a number of factors that an affect the installation of your smart toilet. Any additional costs and charges will be communicated by our installers upon inspection.
